What Your Teeth Show about You
There is a good reason why certain sayings exist. Take for instance the one about not judging a book by its cover. The saying exists because judging a book by its cover is exactly what most people end up doing anyways. The same is true about how we view other people. It has been shown that as soon as we meet somebody for the first time, we immediately make assumptions about who they are as a person before they even start talking. And one of the first things that most people notice about someone else is their teeth.
If we meet somebody with perfectly straight teeth, we immediately think that they have their life together. On the other hand, if we meet somebody that is missing most of their teeth, we usually assume that this person does not care about themselves or anything else around them. It may actually be the other way around, but as far as first impressions are concerned, most people would come to these conclusions.
It turns out that the shape of our teeth also says a lot about us to other people. Triangular-shaped teeth are said to convey that the person is happy and optimistic. Oval-shaped teeth speak to a contemplative nature. Rectangular-shaped teeth suggest irritability, while square-shaped teeth make the person seem dominant. These are all open to interpretation, of course, but the fact remains that we subconsciously identify certain personality traits using the shape of teeth as a basis.
Because people are prone to making guesses about your character based solely on your teeth, it is best to keep them in good shape. One of the ways to ensure this is to always make sure to see your dentist every six months for a regular exam and cleaning.
